The First Young Researchers’ Conference Showcases ITIS UMA’s Emerging Talent

Sharing research, discovering new lines of work, and fostering collaboration among colleagues. With these objectives in mind, the First ITIS UMA Young Researchers’ Conference was launched, bringing together the institute’s research staff to showcase their work and strengthen collaboration among its different research groups.

Throughout the event, 18 early-career researchers delivered five-minute presentations summarizing their research lines and the progress of their doctoral theses. This dynamic format provided an overview of the wide range of projects being carried out at the Institute while giving participants the opportunity to learn about the scientific challenges their colleagues address in their daily research.

The presentations highlighted the quality and multidisciplinary nature of the research conducted at the Institute, covering topics such as artificial intelligence, software engineering, intelligent systems, digital twins, and cybersecurity. Beyond showcasing ongoing research, the event also encouraged the exchange of ideas, helped identify shared research interests, and opened the door to future collaborations among researchers.

This first edition was conceived with the goal of becoming an annual event that strengthens the ITIS UMA research community by providing a space to share knowledge, experiences, and new research opportunities.

The event concluded with the Institute’s traditional end-of-academic-year paella, where researchers and staff enjoyed an opportunity to socialize and celebrate the end of an intense academic year.

The Institute would like to thank everyone who presented their work, as well as all those who contributed to the organization of this first edition. This initiative is intended to become a regular event in the coming years, continuing to promote the research talent of ITIS UMA.
