ITIS UMA Hosts the Kickoff Meeting of the 6G-VERSUS Project
The 6G-VERSUS consortium is pleased to announce the official launch of 6G-VERSUS, a key initiative focused on large-scale trials of 6G technology with sustainability as a core principle. The kickoff meeting took place on January 21-22, 2025, at the Ada Byron Research Building in Málaga, bringing together 34 consortium partners from 10 countries to officially launch this important project. The main goal is to demonstrate how 6G technology enhances sustainability in real-world vertical use cases.
The consortium includes strong representation in 6G research and sustainability, with participation from academia, industry, and non-profit organizations. Specifically, it consists of 13 academic and/or research institutions, 10 industry partners, 9 SMEs, and 2 NGOs.
The meeting was a hybrid event attended by representatives from all partners, including Pavlos Fournogerakis, Head of the SNS program. Over the two-day event, the project’s objectives, timelines, and milestones were thoroughly discussed to ensure all participants are aligned and ready for the work ahead.
ITIS UMA is part of this project, which leverages 6G research facilities across Europe to push the boundaries of sustainable technology. With a strong emphasis on collaboration, innovation, and excellence, this project is set to play a crucial role in the development of 6G for sustainability.
