ITIS UMA reinforces its commitment to innovation at Transfiere 2025
The Institute of Software Technology and Engineering “José María Troya Linero” at the University of Málaga has once again participated in the European Forum Transfiere, strengthening its commitment to knowledge transfer and collaboration with the business sector.
From March 12 to 14, the event brought together experts in science, technology, and innovation at the Málaga Trade Fair and Congress Center (FYCMA), providing a key space for generating synergies between universities, research centers, and companies.

In this edition, ITIS UMA once again had its own stand in the UMA area, alongside other institutes from the University of Málaga. Over the course of three days, our researchers shared information about ongoing projects, held meetings with industry professionals, and explored new collaboration opportunities.
In addition to the institute’s presence, ATIC, one of our research groups, also had its own stand at the event, where it presented a demo of one of its projects. This demonstration allowed attendees to experience firsthand the work developed by its researchers.

Additionally, on March 12, our deputy director, José Francisco Aldana, delivered a presentation at the Research Center, where he spoke about the institute, highlighting our research areas, infrastructure, key projects, and the impact of our work on the industrial and technological landscape.
The professor also discussed the launch of Ágora Datalab, an innovation and research center for Data Spaces at the University of Málaga. This center provides society with its capabilities, services, and the necessary technological infrastructure to support and advance the data economy.

On the following day, March 13, our colleague Lidia Fuentes participated as a speaker in the panel titled “Artificial Intelligence Applied to Digital Transformation and Competitiveness,” where she highlighted the key role of AI in innovation and enhancing competitiveness. Additionally, on March 14, Isabel Barbancho also took part as a speaker, presenting prototypes and international research projects on the application of Artificial Intelligence in the field of education.
ITIS UMA’s presence at Transfiere 2025 has been an excellent opportunity to continue promoting knowledge transfer, connect with professionals from the innovation ecosystem, and strengthen our role in developing technological solutions with real impact.
