The University of Málaga and the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança sign a Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen academic cooperation.
The University of Málaga (UMA), through its Institute of Technology and Software Engineering (ITIS), and the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança (IPB) in Portugal, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at fostering bilateral relations and consolidating ties between Spain and its neighboring country. This agreement highlights the importance of academic collaboration as a driver of enrichment and scientific progress.
This MoU establishes a framework for cooperation over an initial five-year period from the date of signing and may be renewed through written consensus following a joint evaluation every four years.
The main areas of collaboration to be developed include:
- Exchange of academic, research, and administrative staff.
- Mobility programs for undergraduate and postgraduate students.
- Development of collaborative research projects and training activities.
- Joint supervision of doctoral theses.
- Creation of joint academic programs.
- Exchange of publications, academic materials, and information.

The Polytechnic Institute of Bragança is a public education institution that offers high-quality training and fosters research with economic, social, and cultural impact.
