Last September, the progress achieved by the Young Farmers Network Task Force, composed of the Union of Small Farmers and Ranchers (UPA), the University of Cordoba (UCO), the KHAOS-ITIS group of the University of Malaga (UMA), was presented and the Tragsa Group. In addition, the project has the collaboration of the Federation of Rural Women’s Associations (FADEMUR) and Caixabank.

This innovative initiative in which they work seeks to bring the professionals of agriculture and livestock to the necessary information to develop their work, attending from bureaucratic aspects, to aspects related to the management of their crops or livestock.

The project focuses on the https://www.raices.info/ platform, which integrates different software tools aimed at generating social media functionalities, digital media for the transformation of agriculture, serious games in gamification, virtual assistants via online chatbots…

Raices.info is an initiative financed 80% by the European Union, and 20% by the Ministry of Agriculture, through the rural development program it coordinates. This initiative complements the work being carried out by the administrations to support the integration of young people in rural areas. Two of its leaders, Fernando Miranda and Isabel Bombal, participated in the webinar, where they recognized the hopes they have in the project, and clarified that now is the time to concretize the tools so that they are truly useful and represent a real turning point that helps young food producers.

This webinar was attended by about 300 people, mostly young farmers, who connected from their villages, despite the connectivity difficulties suffered by the rural environment and were denounced during that day.
